Puli(埔里) Town, Nantou County, which possess the mild climate and clean water, is one of the famous homes of water bamboos in Taiwan. Mr. Lin, raised his five children by selling the water bamboos.

After these children grew up, they thought how to upgrade the value of water bamboos. They had tried to make pickled water bamboo, and two years later, the delicious pickled water bamboo was successfully made.

The pickled water bamboo with its dressing made from over 20 kinds of ingredients tastes crisp and tasty. It is very popular among females and children. Other water bamboo products are offered, too, such as water bamboo dessert and water bamboo jelly. Also, the brand, “Yi Pao Hong Water Bamboo”(一泡紅美人腿), was created.

Lin family wants to promote his father’s agriculture products and hopes everyone can taste the special dishes.

在地農作孝思變名產 埔里美人腿泡菜

  南投埔里是台灣數一數二的筊白筍盛產地,當地氣候溫和、水質乾淨,非常適合筊白筍生長,因此栽培面積很廣,幾乎遍佈全鎮,有許多居民以種植筊白筍維生,其中有一位農民林爸爸,就是靠著賣筊白筍來養育五個小孩。

  林爸爸辛勤的種植筊白筍,養育五個小孩,可是第一級產業的收益不高,所以一家人生活得十分辛苦。幾個小孩長大後為分擔父親的辛勞,開始思考如何提昇農特產的價值,剛好哥哥是廚師,對於料理有些概念,而妹妹希望轉型成經濟價值較高的名特產,於是他們試著將筊白筍做成泡菜,研發了近兩年的時間,終於做出美味可口的筊白筍泡菜。

  筊白筍用二十多種配方來調味,口感爽脆鮮嫩、自然香甜,不管是單吃或做成料理都很適合,很受女性朋友和小朋友歡迎。林家兄妹也陸續開發其他產品,如結合埔里百香果製成的筊白筍甜點、筊白筍果凍,並打出一泡紅美人腿的品牌,希望可以將這一「泡」推廣給各地的朋友,也讓大家嚐嚐父親親手栽種的筊白筍。

  林小姐表示,筊白筍是埔里重要的農特產,品質優良、嫩脆鮮美,還有「美人腿」美稱,所以希望能將筊白筍以不同的面貌推廣出去,也可以藉由展覽讓更多人認識筊白筍泡菜,如11/15、11/16在台中美術園道舉辦的2008台灣美食展,就有許多民眾前來參加,也獲得熱烈迴響。(攝影/邵鈺敏)
